A Great Big AMEN!!!!
The thing that bothers me most about smoking is that most smokers do not seem to think that them smoking is hurting anybody else, and sometimes they don't even realize that they are hurting themselves. Smoking is like putting a little bit of poision in your salt shaker and using it every day on your food so that you are willingly poisioning yourself slowly, which is a person's own choice I guess, but it's wrong to use that salt shaker on anybody else's food when they do not wish to be poisioned. People should not be allowed to expose anybody else to the poision they are using to kill themselves slowly. Second hand smoke is worse than the smoke that the smoker is inhaling from the cigarette because the nonsmokers don't have a filter to filter out whatever they are used to filter out. Sometimes I think smokers are just so selfish and don't even think that they are hurting other people wose than they are hurting themselves.
A Great Big AMEN!!!!
OMG we agree about something. The first job I had had a policy of allowing smoking INSIDE the building so long as the smoker stayed in there office with the door closed. And while I am not alergic to smoke it bugs the snot out of me expecaly when I wear my contacts so when I would have to go into the office of one of these smokers it was a race to see how quickly I could finish and to hell with quality of work I would then smell like an ashtray the rest of the day plus usaly keep a headache. Not good times at all LOL
Smoking indoors should be illegal, but what about smoking in your own home, with no children present?
BTW-I dont smoke.

Well honistly if someone wants to kill themself in the privetcy of there own home who am I to stop them. So long as there are no Kids or Adults that share the same home but do not smoke lets throw in pets as well (Unless it is a Monkey with a 2 pack a day habbit LOL)
you may want to include all that other stuff in there!!!
fatty foods, if I cook it my family eats it, if I drink and get stupid I could hurt somebody else....have to include it all....
BTW I quit smoking for health reasons
I was married by a judge. I should have asked for a jury.
What kills me most is when people try and justify or lay blame with something else. Until a person gets behind a wheel, drinking harms no one else. Smoking harms others regardless if they are behind a wheel, flying an airplane or sitting on a tree. Fatty foods is really not even in this level, you choose to eat fatty foods plain and simple, people know what they are gettin when they order a monster burger. You can eat one everyday if you want and if you exercise and maintain a balanced diet beyond that, you wont develop lung cancer like you do smoking. I eat "unhealthy" foods all the time, I lift weights and run and play basketball often so its sorta of a balanced out equation. Although right now I do have my winter weight . My moms is a smoker, I preach this to her everyday.
I know and understand what you are saying....second hand smoke is bad and I know this. Also there is a public decrease in smoking and people are taking steps to help that. I belive smokers should be respectful to non smokers, I was when I smoked. You may not think drinking harms others, live with an alcoholic and then tell me that same thing and mean it. My grandfather was an alcoholic...not pretty, never laid a hand on the kids or his wife, but words can hurt too. So no matter what level alcohol CAN affect others. What pisses me off is they are still allowed to advertise it on tv like the "High Life" is the best (don't get me wrong Bud comes up with some of the BEST commercials). All these other things do affect people whether it is health wise or not. What about drunk drivers can affect the cost of insurance, fatty foods affect the cost of insurance.....I understand what you are saying, what I am saying is that there are things that are just as bad on different levels as smoking. I don't think it is ok, and I have asked my husband to quit, I have quit. I will not force him, since I was once addicted and I know what it is like. To this day I have cravings, I have been quit for two years. Smoking is not the only evil in the world that affects others negatively. Emissions from cars, smog, pollution, and those are things are that regulated, still cause problems even for those of us that breathe.
Winter weight??? I call that insulation

What Im saying though is, on its self. Smoking causes a problem to others where alcohol doesnt. Add alcohol and driving and yes alcohol become dangerous beyond comprehension, Im just sayin its self alone, smoking is more dangerous, I have ben around both in my life, all three if you wanna toss drug addicts in the mix as well and I have never seen a more violent reaction of with drawl then nicotine. A drug or alcohol will affect someone to an ireegular state, however smoking just has to have that fix, there is no "passing out" or over dosing. Its just as much as you can put in.
And oh yeah, lol my insulation is bout to get outta hand to be honest lol.
